The fourth e-GLO 2 session, Learning from the successful projects, was held on Saturday Oct 31st, 2009.

e-GLO participant Vinícius Almeida da Silva’s report on the fourth session:
“Learning is not that easy. It requires attention, discipline and a lot of hard work to fully comprehend the subject.
In 4th session we were learning from successful project. In the last homework we were asked to interview a leader/activist who had made a difference in our community. Through that task we were able to realize that we can actually learn from other’s successful projects. In doing so, there is nothing to be shamed of or stupid – imitation is considered as a good thing!
Some illuminating projects, histories and people were presented to us during the session. From Canada, Romy and her indigenous perspective gave us an example on how minorities are preserving their cultures. Mark Vonesch with Reel Youth (a not-for-profit media empowerment program) showed us how creativity can be applied in a very simple way. And from Nigeria, our dearest activist colleague Esther Agbarakwe proved how Earth Charter can work as an inspirational tool.
This is it, e-GLO Fellows đ ! Share experiences, learn from others, teach what you have learned and prepare the ground for those who will follow! These are the most important tasks to sustainability leader or activist. And the planet urgently needs you!”
