This official ECI program will train participants to work independently to turn the Earth Charter vision into reality — becoming volunteer Earth Charter “consultants” in the communities in which they work and live.
Program topics will include:
Systemic vision of the four elements of the Earth Charter Principles: respect towards life, ecological integrity, social and economic justice, peace and non-violence; and, their interconnections and interdependence.
The challenges of scale and complexity in dissemenating these principles.
Values-based education to generate more sustainable ways of living.
Cases and studies of the operational principles of the Earth Charter in action.
The power of people (as opposed to organizations or institutions) as a key factor for the success of the initiative.
Creative approaches to building resources, collaboration and support, and overcoming dependency on fundraising.
Experiences from the field: workshop on innovation in different arenas (education, media, etc.)
