The UPEACE Center The Hague has embraced the Earth Charter and become an ECI Affiliate. ECI looks forward to future cooperation.
This new UPEACE Center had its Inaugural Conference on “Peace for Humanity in the 21st Century” on 20 September 2012. Mr. Ruud Lubbers, Earth Charter Commissioner, and one of the speakers during the morning session, addresssed the audience on Peace and Governance in a Multi-polar World: the Earth Charter as a Framework. This conference took place at the Conference Hall of the Peace Palace with over 200 participants.
