Youth Network conferences in Mexico

In March, Marcello Hernandez, ECI Youth Coordinator, traveled to Mexico to speak about the EC Youth Network and the role that youth have in sustainable development. Marcello made a road tour of more than 1,000 kilometers, visiting important universities such as the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Querétaro (one of the most prestigious universities in Latin America), the Benemérita Universidad in Puebla, and the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Puebla.

Also, on the last day of the trip, Marcello presented the Youth Network to more than 500 young people at the First National Convention of Youth Entrepreneurs, organized by CANACINTRA.

In total, more than 1,000 young people saw the presentation and many of them were inspired to develop new Earth Charter Youth Groups in their universities. One of these groups was recently created at the Benemérita Universidad de Puebla, and will carry out Earth Charter tasks involving at least 90 youth under the supervision of the Direction of Sustainable Development of the University.

ECI thanks Fundacion Mundo Sustentable (Sustainable World Foundation), and specially Dr. Carlos Gomez, for making this trip possible.
