Yale University Appoints Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim to Senior Academic Positions

ECI Council Member Mary Evelyn Tucker and her husband John Grim, both leaders in the field of religion and ecology, have been given five-year appointments as Senior Lecturers and Senior Research Scholars at the Yale University School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and (simultaneously) Yale Divinity School.

The appointments demonstrate the growing importance of environmental ethics and the study of religion and ecology, and the two Yale schools look to Tucker and Grim to help them build bridges and establish a closer connection. This news comes on the heels of Yale president Richard Levine’s public commitment to supporting Yale as a leader in environmental studies.

ECI is excited for Tucker and Grim as they develop their scholarly work on religion and ecology, and on the Earth Charter, in such an excellent setting.
