Expand your knowledge and skills for building a better future through ECI trainings, webinars, and workshops. ECI educational opportunities use the Earth Charter as the ethical framework and vision for building the future we want, and offer it as a tool for students to use in their lives and work.
ECI offers an online training for emerging young leaders: Leadership, Sustainability & Ethics. This ten week programme is an ECI commitment in contribution to the UNESCO Global Action Programme on Education for Sustainable Development, and is offered twice in English and twice in Spanish annually. Alumni are eligible to participate in the Earth Charter Young Leaders Programme, an ongoing leadership position within the Earth Charter Youth Network.
ECI organizes webinars in English, Spanish, and French to provide youth from around the world with a virtual space where they can interact with each other to stay informed on current topics, learn relevant skills, and learn how to use the Earth Charter framework in working towards a more sustainable and peaceful world.
Webinars are short, 1-2 hour sessions which include one or more short presentations and time for questions and answers with participants. Recent webinar topics have included climate justice, digital storytelling, writing grant proposals, education for sustainable development, and the Earth Charter. Upcoming webinars include youth and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and a Culture of Peace. Join our EC Youth facebook group for updates on upcoming trainings and webinars.
ECI designs and facilitates in-person workshops for schools, universities and youth organizations on the Earth Charter’s values, principles, and themes including sustainability leadership, system thinking, values for sustainability, and the Earth Charter. ECI maintains ongoing programmes with local elementary schools and public universities in Costa Rica, and designs specialized workshops for private schools, organizations, and visiting groups.
