The first iAct Dialogue for Sustainability “Development and Conservation Conflict” was held on July 25th, 2013. The webinar took place on Earth Charter International’s online platform, and was co-organized by the Sustainability Leaders Network and its partner, the IUCN Task Force on Intergerational Partnership for Sustainability. The webinar was sponsored and co-designed by the the Sibthorb Trust.
This intergenerational conversation on Development and Conservation Conflict focused on conceptualizing the bigger picture while developing a vision for the future. Webinar speakers, among them Alicia Jimenez, ECI Secretariat staff member, and 30 participants identified key challenges and questions, and proposed solutions for increasing resilience of natural and social systems. The webinar culminated in brainstorming action steps that participants can take for promoting sustainability in their personal and professional lives.
