Twenty-six years after the launch of the Earth Charter, humanity finds itself once again at a critical crossroads. The Charter’s opening words remain strikingly relevant: “We stand at a critical moment in Earth’s history, a time when humanity must choose its future.” In a world marked by ecological degradation, social fragmentation, technological disruption, and deep uncertainty, many people experience a growing sense of despair about the future. Yet this same moment is also giving rise to new forms of cooperation, innovation, and collective responsibility that point toward transformative possibilities.

For more than two decades, Earth Charter International has worked to make the Ethics of Care, values-based education, and intergenerational collaboration central to efforts toward social transformation. The ongoing commitment and collaboration of individuals and organizations from every major region of the world have been instrumental in keeping this movement alive and growing.
This anniversary webinar will invite participants to reflect on the enduring relevance of the Earth Charter’s ethical vision and its call to recognize that “we are one human family and one Earth community with a common destiny.” Bringing together diverse generations, cultures, and fields of knowledge, the conversation will explore how values-based education, systems thinking, and an ethic of care can help transform concern into action. At a time when humanity faces the choice to either “form a global partnership to care for Earth and one another or risk the destruction of ourselves and the diversity of life,” the webinar will highlight pathways for collaboration that make the seemingly impossible possible and help cultivate the wisdom, courage, and solidarity needed for the decades ahead.
We will soon announce main speakers.
