From February 2-6, the Earth Charter Center for Education for Sustainable Development offered another successful programme on transformative education, this time exclusively in Spanish. Mark Hathaway, the co-author of the Tao of Liberation with Leonardo Boff, co-facilitated this course. Mark is finishing his doctorate in Adult Education at the University of Toronto. The full title of the programme was “Education for Sustainability, Transformative Learning, and the Earth Charter Values”.
The programme was attended by 19 participants from five different countries, and adding the Canadian and Brazilian facilitators, it was a diverse group. As usual, the programme facilitators were able to convert the learning experience into a strong bonding and friendship forming experience with many undertones of spiritual connection to nature and to other people.
