Second edition of the Earth Charter Guide to Religion and Climate Change available

After receiving several comments and suggestions to the Earth Charter Guide to Religion and Climate Change, ECI is happy to present the second version of the Guide drafted by Michael Slaby who is now the Earth Charter Coordinator of the Jacob Soetendorp Institute for Human Values. The second edition of the Guide includes an extended overview of good practice examples of religious engagement on climate change. It also suggests a revised methodology for using the Earth Charter for initiating a process of analysing the interdependent ethical challenges posed by global warming in an integrated way, and framing inclusive responses that may help generate the renewable energy of hope and unleash the immense power of human imagination, creativity, and compassion that is so much needed in this critical moment as the world’s governments are assembling in Copenhagen to decide about a new Climate treaty.
