Nnaemeka Phil Eke-Okocha

Nnaemeka Phil Eke-Okocha is an Earth Charter Young Leader, Executive Director of Adesso Development Initiative, Project Lead of the Local Pathways Fellowship at the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) Youth, and a PhD student at the University of Massachusetts Boston. A scholar, peacebuilder, and youth advocate, he is also Co-Founder of Nova Praxis, an initiative dedicated to empowering youth leadership in sustainability, peacebuilding, education, and climate justice.

Through Adesso and his leadership at SDSN Youth, Phil has led youth-centered projects on climate action, civic engagement, urban sustainability, and peacebuilding. He has collaborated with organizations across the UN system, civil society, and academia, advocating for inclusive, locally grounded, and ecologically responsible models of development.

A strong believer in the power of ethical frameworks, Phil has integrated the Earth Charter’s values of ecological integrity, social justice, and nonviolence across his teaching, organizing, and research. His work seeks to nurture a generation of changemakers who embrace interdependence and shared responsibility for a just, peaceful, and sustainable future.
