We are proud to announce that the Earth Charter Center for Education for Sustainable Development has been awarded the renewal of its EDU Accreditation. Originally accredited by EDU in 2013, this renewal reaffirms our commitment to providing high-quality education that fosters sustainability, peace, and ethical leadership.
EDU is a global organization dedicated to promoting education as the foundation for peace, stability, and prosperity. Its mission closely aligns with the work we do at Earth Charter International, where we strive to empower individuals with the knowledge, values, and skills necessary for a just, sustainable, and peaceful world.
At the Earth Charter Center, our educational programs—including online and on-site courses, masterclasses, and research projects—support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4, target 4.7. This target emphasizes the importance of education in fostering sustainable development, global citizenship, and appreciation for cultural diversity. It also aligns with our efforts to turn conscience into action in accordance with Earth Charter Principle 14, which highlights the importance of integrating “into formal education and lifelong learning the knowledge, values, and skills needed for a sustainable way of life.”
By renewing our accreditation with EDU, we reaffirm our dedication to continuing our decades-long work of equipping professionals and young leaders with the tools to integrate sustainability principles into decision-making and education. The Earth Charter’s values of interdependence, responsibility, and respect for all life remain at the heart of our programs.
It is both a privilege and an honor to receive this continued recognition from EDU. We extend our gratitude to EDU for their trust in our work and to our partners, educators, and students, who continuously inspire us to advance education for sustainability.
