Welcome to the New Cohort of the Leadership, Sustainability, and Ethics Online Youth Course!

We are thrilled to welcome the new cohort of the Leadership, Sustainability, and Ethics Online Youth Course! Since 2015, this course has empowered young leaders globally, and we are proud to see Earth Charter Young Leaders now making meaningful contributions in important roles within the UN, NGOs, governments, schools and various sectors of society. Many of our co-facilitators are also alumni who are very willing to continue to be engaged and committed to sharing their knowledge with this new generation.

This year, over 100 participants from more than 20 countries, from Japan, to Ethiopia, USA and Costa Rica are joining us. They are eager to explore the complexities of ethical leadership and the importance of sustainability in today’s world. Through this course, participants will strengthen their capacity to lead ethically, expand their understanding of sustainability, and apply the Earth Charter’s values in their personal and professional lives.

The course will deepen participants’ understanding on Worldviews, Global Challenges, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Ecoliteracy, Systems Thinking, the Inner Development Goals, and The Earth Charter. They will also explore how these areas interconnect, enhancing their ability to make informed, ethical and sustainable decisions. As part of their training, participants will also develop and implement projects that reflect the tools and knowledge acquired throughout the course.

A key objective of the course is to help young people recognize their own agency and global citizenship skills, empowering them to drive positive change. A special outcome of this experience is that participants build meaningful connections with peers from diverse cultures and contexts, fostering collaboration and support as they continue their academic and professional journeys.

Ten years ago, at the UNESCO World Conference on Education for Sustainable Development, ECI committed to engaging, educating, and empowering young leaders from around the world through this LSE course. We are pleased to state that this is the 20th cohort (as the course is offered twice a year in English), which is an illustration of our ongoing and enduring efforts.

We extend our sincere thanks to all our collaborators and partners for their support, especially for the scholarships provided to students from around the world. This generous support enables us to continue offering this transformative learning experience to a multicultural audience.
