Betty McDermott, one of the Earth Charter Secretariat’s staff, participated as speaker in the Second World Meeting on Values and Legal Culture (Segundo Encuentro Mundial de Valores y Cultura de la Legalidad), held in Monterrey from September 30th to October 2nd.
- A workshop for teachers and other interested people was also given in Monterrey on October 2nd, who are planning to use the Earth Charter materials in their classes. Most of them participated in activities aimed to better internalized the Earth Charter principles.
- On October 3rd an Earth Charter Conference was delivered for the staff of the Municipality of Bustamante, including the Major. This is a small and friendly town in Nuevo León that is moving slowly towards sustainable tourism using the Earth Charter as a guide.
