Join the new #SeedsofHopeandAction hashtag campaign! Cocreated by Earth Charter International (ECI) and Soka Gakkai International (SGI), we invite you to share photos and videos of your actions, or actions you witness around you, towards the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and related Earth Charter principles. This campaign was launched on 14 April 2024 at the Earth Charter conference “Reimagining Education for Ecological Civilizations” in Orlando, Florida, USA. This campaign will run for 17 weeks from mid-April until mid-August 2024.
There are several actions we can take from where we are and many that we might already be doing. Through this campaign, you can make your contributions visible and inspire others to also contribute. Together, we can flood social media with images of positive actions that are contributing to the realization of diverse and interconnected ways to address collective global challenges.
Steps to participate:

- Post the photo, story or video with the hashtags #SeedsofHopeandAction #(yourcountry) #SDG(number) #ECPrinciple(number)

We encourage you to post as many weekly actions as possible. To help you keep track of your posts, we have created a bingo card, which you can find below. Note that some weeks will also be tied to international days and observances. Follow our official accounts to see the weekly theme.
This initiative can also be used by teachers, professors, and/or the whole school or college to engage students and the whole community in learning about the SDGs and the EC Principles, and how each of us can contribute to their implementation through actions in our daily lives.
Linking the EC Principles with the SDGs
There is a myriad of interconnections among the SDGs and the Earth Charter principles, with some more direct and evident connections. For this campaign, we will focus on one SDG per week, and its connection to two Earth Charter principles, one from Pillar I: Respect and Care for the Community of Life, and another one from Pillars II-IV: ecological integrity, social and economic justice, and democracy, nonviolence and peace.
