The 2nd National Meeting of Universities with the Earth Charter is being held from October 27-28, 2011 2nd National Meeting of Universitiesat the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila in the city of Saltillo, Mexico.
The Autonomous University of Coahuila endorsed the Earth Charter in 2006 and has been promoting a series of events and actions on the issue ever since. This event was inspired by the Youth Forum on Climate Change as part of a series of events to establish a Mexican youth proposal which was then presented at COP 16 in Cancun, Mexico in December 2010. They have also been training young students interested in spreading the principles and values ??????of the Earth Charter, associated with other universities who are equally committed: Ucpast (Coordinating Unit for Social Participation and Transparency) of Semarnat (Environment and Natural Resources Secretariat ) which is currently the focal point of the Earth Charter in Mexico, under the leadership of Matthew Castillo.
The Youth Coordinator from the Earth Charter International Secretariat has been invited to participate in the panel “The Earth Charter: A Framework for Youth Leadership.”
