Registration is now open for the 2020 Online Certificate Programme on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) that will be held between the 15 of January and the 24 of June 2020.
This Executive Programme offers the opportunity to deepen understanding on the concept of sustainability, the Earth Charter and its implications for education, learning, and change.
This five-month Diploma Programme under the framework of the UNESCO Chair on ESD with the Earth Charter, faces the fact that education plays a central role for the effective implementation of all Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Target 4.7,that states that all learners should “acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development.”
To accomplish this goal, a transformative pedagogy is needed; an innovative pedagogy that informs and empowers learners to accept their role as planetary citizens who can create new ways of being and new institutions that benefit all.
The UNESCO Chair on ESD with the Earth Charter Programme will provide this space of dialogue using transformative learning pedagogical processes that respond to the new guidance and educational needs of today.
