Earth Charter Festival in Brazil counted with a broad diversity of celebrities

The Earth Charter International Festival, held online on 29 June 2020, counted with 71 interventions by musicians, artists, politicians, scientists, representatives of NGOs, universities, socio-environmental activists, representatives from different religious groups, and Indigenous Peoples. The festival included musical interventions and reflections by people from all regions of the world.

The Festival, broadcasted in both English and Portuguese, was presented by Maria Paula Fidalgo, a psychologist and Brazilian actress, and was broadcast on 5 different YouTube channels and Facebook pages. It is estimated that the Festival reached 35,000 people on YouTube and 45,000 people on Facebook.

This event was organized by the Esquel Foundation, Association Alternativa Terrazul, an ECI affiliated organization, and Teia Carta da Terra Brasil (the Earth Charter Brazilian Network), and counted with the partnership of 30 organizations, among them: Episcopal Anglican Church of Brazil; Archdiocese of Manaus, Pastoral dos Deaf – Regional Su1: UNB CDS; Influenza Produções, Marcia Stival Assessoria, Radio Joia, Radio Supereco; TV Supren: Community TV. The Festival was supported by the Government of the Federal District, the Youth Secretariat, the Education Secretariat, and the Environment Secretariat, Parliamentary Environmentalist Front – CLDF, Parliamentary Front in Support of the CLDF SDGs.

The conceptual idea of the festival was put together by: Ana Laise Alvez, Luise Cher, Mirian Vilela, Pedro Ivo Batista and Tiago Maggio.
