On 20 January 2024, Executive Director of ECI China, Mrs. Fang Hong, was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the World Finance Forum in Beijing. Fang Hong introduced the 16 principles of the Earth Charter and its missions and vision and called for the “Green Collar Initiative,” record of how Chinese companies overseas realize the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda, explore milestones in green revolutions, and step-up efforts to build the Earth Charter Innovation Hub for the Digital Silk Road.
On 30 January 2024, at the invitation of World Finance Forum, Frank Rijsberman, Director General of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) gave a lecture on the topic of “Green Finance Accelerates Low-carbon Development”. At the same event, Prof.
Su Hao, Co-chair of ECI China Expert Steering Committee, was invited to introduce the ECI China. The meeting participants learned with great interest. Prof. Su explained the background, successes, and future outlook of ECI China.
China has been actively engaging in implementing the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda and provided helpful practices in promoting green development, environmental protection, climate change and sustainable development. ECI China will stay committed to implementing the national philosophy of “lush mountains and lucid waters as invaluable assets” while carrying forward the spirit of the Earth Charter to build a just, sustainable and peaceful global society.
