Earth Charter Youth Summit “Redesigning Tomorrow’s World: Uniting Global Youth for Climate Justice and Collective Healing — An Intercultural Call for the Earth Community”

A three-day special event bringing together 100 participants from all major regions of the world, primarily alumni of the ECI course for young leaders, LSE – Leadership, Sustainability and Ethics; alumni from SUA; youth from partner organizations (ages 18–35); and special invited guests.

Purpose:  

  1. Bring together young people from different parts of the world to connect, build networks, and strengthen the Earth Charter Young Leaders Programme.
  1. Explore the synergies among key United Nations agendas, such as the Sustainable Development Goals, Climate Change, Education for Sustainable Development, and the Pact for the Future, as well as the role young leaders can play in their implementation.
  1. Empower and inspire young leaders to develop the knowledge, skills and tools needed to create positive change for the Earth community.
  1. Explore diverse worldviews and cultural perspectives through the ethical framework of the Earth Charter, encouraging dialogue rooted in shared planetary responsibility and an ethic of care.
  1. Cultivate hope, resilience, courage, and a high level of engagement among young global citizens to address the planetary crisis.
  1. Co-create inclusive and innovative solutions for a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world.
  1. Build bridges for future thought leadership, collaboration, and dynamic activism among an international group of young leaders to advance progress in addressing the world’s most significant environmental and ethical challenges.

This event is organized by Earth Charter International and Soka University of America in collaboration with 15 partner organizations.
