Launch Event: Greening Education Partnership in Latin America and the Caribbean

The UNESCO Office in Santiago, in its capacity as regional secretariat of ESDNet2030, will organize the official launch of the Greening Education Partnership (GEP) materials for dissemination in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Greening Education Partnership is a global initiative that takes a whole-of-system approach to support countries to tackle the climate crisis by harnessing the critical role of education. It was launched following the 2022 UN Secretary-General’s Transforming Education Summit.

This Partnership aims to deliver strong, coordinated and comprehensive action that will prepare every learner to acquire the knowledge, skills, values, and attitudes to tackle climate change and to promote sustainable development.

GEP is structured around four key pillars of transformative education: greening schools standards, greening every curriculum, greening teacher training and education system capacities, and greening communities.

This launch event will focus on the materials from the first two pillars, published in 2024:
