INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
San Jose’, Costa Rica, June 27 – July 2, 2013
Ecological Integrity, Globalization and Radical Social Change: From the UN, to the Earth Charter;
from the World Social Forum to the Rights of Mother Earth and Beyond.
Given the failure of the Rio + 20 meeting to provide any guidance leading to the radical changes society needs, the Global Ecological Integrity Group (GEIG) will propose and suggest new approaches and new ways to move towards a future based on ecojustice and respect for ecological human rights. The GEIG is determined to discuss the way forward during the Conference this group is organizing in Costa Rica, at the Earth Charter Center for Education for Sustainable Development, located in the University for Peace Campus.
The full programme can now be viewed as a pdf.
Conference fee: 200US$: includes June 26 Dinner/Reception at our Hotel and daily shuttle bus to and from the venue.
The conference will also feature a special keynote by Jerry Mander. Also, a further meeting following GEIG’s will be organized by Anna Grear (NZ) and Louis Kotze (SA), details to be available later. In addition, the Canadians are invited to the Canadian Consulate in San Jose, for the Canada Day Party on July 1.
