It’s been 12 years in a row that the Aguascalientes local government in Mexico has endorsed the Earth Charter. The last period (2011 – 2013), Mayor Mrs. Lorena Martinez focused heavily on promoting sustainability, using the Earth Charter as the foundation for Aguascalientes’ strategic planning.
In a ceremony that took place on 27 January 2014, the new Mayor (2014-2017), Mr. Juan Antonio Martin del Campo, in the presence of members of the Municipality and other governmental and non-governmental organizations, renewed the Municipality’s endorsement of the Earth Charter.
