The Call: A children’s story on the origin of the Earth Charter document

La CridaThe group ImplicaT +, from Spain, presents a children’s story about the origin of the Earth Charter document, in a very illustrative and easy to understand way aimed for children and adults. The story was created in Spain in its original language, Catalan.

“Danger warning! The causes and effects of pollution in our environment.”

With this call begins a series of events in all corners of the world: a group of dolphins illustrates the perseverance they had in order to extend the call, as mentioned by the mother dolphin, “when we are convinced of something, no one can stop us “. The call could not be stopped, and it did not stop, thousands of voices were heard, and in 1997, the drafting of the Earth Charter document began.

The Earth Charter was developed by politicians, government’s representatives, ecologists, and people from different cultures and social status, who were conscious of the importance of doing something and taking action to change our ways of life and to become more sustainable, with the aim to preserve the future of our planet. Since then, thousands of people, governments and NGO´s have endorsed the document, expressing their interest in a better world.
