The Alaknanda Ghaati Shilpi (AAGAAS) Federation, Earth Charter Affiliate in India, organized a trek around the Himalayas, as a way to promote responsible ecotourism in the area, with the aim to boost employment opportunities for unemployed youth of the region. The trek started in 26 June and finished on 3 July 2016.
During the trek they talked and shared about the Earth Charter principles. Another objective of this trek was to generate a report about regional flora and fauna, the people living around the area and the negative effects of forest fire.
