My name is Ana Karen Campa Madrid, I am 29 years old and I am originally from Agua Prieta, a municipality located on the northern border of the state of Sonora in Mexico.
I am a person who is open to collaboration, who likes to learn new things and meet people from different places or fields to exchange experiences and opinions.
I studied Economics at the University of Sonora in Hermosillo and later earned a Master’s Degree in Integral Environmental Administration at El Colegio de la Frontera Norte in Tijuana. My interests include political ecology and social justice.
I currently work in a civil association that is interested in achieving more resilient communities and healthy oceans. My activities are aimed at issues of social justice in small-scale fishing communities, and when I got to this job, an interest in addressing issues arose in me related to labor rights, alternative economic activities and opportunities for the youth of these communities.
