Kabila Jonathan Obbo

Kabila Jonathan Obbo, 22, is originally from Oyam district (Uganda). He is a student at Gulu University pursuing Bachelor of Science in Food and Agribusiness. He is so passionate about transforming his community through youth empowerment in the fields of agriculture, education and leadership.

Promoting and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Earth Charter principles drives him in his daily day life, and therefore he believes that through good leadership, hard work, he will always be a change agent and ambassador for his community in solving major community issues like youth unemployment, poverty, Gender Based Violence, teenage pregnancies among others. 

He serves as the Project Director for Rotaract Club of Gulu University as well as United Nations Association of Uganda Gulu Chapter where he coordinates projects aimed at community transformation. He has coordinated projects like ‘Educate a Child project’ which aimed at promoting inclusive education for persons with disabilities in Gulu district, Northern Uganda which was faced with war for 20 years; ‘Save a Child project’  which aimed at promoting safe birth delivery for expectant women at Gulu Regional referral Hospital through donation of Mama Kits to the expectant mothers. 

He is a Peer Trainer with Safer Universities Project at Gulu University. He is also a Global Youth Reporter with Team Harmony Foundation.

He believe that all groups of marginalized people in our community can be empowered given the resources by mobilization of resources, ensuring strong youth networks and challenging policy makers on youth issues in the community. 

He looks forward to continued engagement in transforming this world.
