My name is Alejandra Michelle Aguilar Ordoñez. I was born on 16 February 16 2003 in the beautiful country of Honduras. Since I was young, I have had an innate passion for knowledge and activism for the environment and the oceans. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Sciences and Humanities from La Esperanza Institute in 2019, which sparked my interest in exploring both the scientific and human aspects of our world.
I am currently in the exciting final year of my engineering studies in Aquaculture Sciences and Coastal Marine Resources. This career has allowed me to merge my love of nature and my scientific curiosity, giving me the opportunity to understand and contribute to the delicate balance of marine ecosystems.
Throughout my educational journey, I have acquired a wide range of skills and knowledge. My thirst for learning has led me to participate in various courses, ranging from psychology to technology and environmental conservation. As a passionate ocean advocate, I have channeled my energy into environmental activism, working tirelessly to raise awareness about the importance of preserving our marine resources.
In my commitment to make a difference, I have held the position of coordinator in a volunteer program in the city of Choluteca called “Patitas UNAH-CURLP”, where we are dedicated to animal welfare and community education. Additionally, I have the honor of being the president of our university’s Association of Scholars and Borrowers, where we work together to enrich the student experience.
One of the facets that fills me most with pride is my work as a teacher at NATURALIA, where I have the opportunity to transmit my knowledge and values to future generations. My goal is to inspire others to love and respect our natural environment as much as I do.
Looking to the future, I have nurtured the dream of being part of an NGO in administrative roles. I want to use my skills and passions to contribute to positive change on a broader scale, advocating for the conservation of our oceans and environmental sustainability.
Every day, I strive to be a voice for those who cannot speak: the oceans, the living things that inhabit them, and the future generations that will inherit this planet. Through my education, my activism, and my dedication, I aspire to leave a lasting mark in the fight for a healthier, more equitable world.
