Andrés Cordero Porras

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management and a technical certification in Animal Management and Welfare. I am currently completing my thesis on the characterization of the mangrove ecosystem in Tivives, where I am also involved in a project aimed at identifying the impact of climate change on this ecosystem.

I have specialized training in ecological restoration, geographic information systems, and the study of freshwater ecosystems. As Vice President and co-creator of ACAD, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting freshwater aquarism in Costa Rica, I have worked to promote awareness and conservation of aquatic environments.

I have participated in biotope competitions, such as the Biotope Aquarium Project (Italy), where field studies are conducted to characterize natural habitats and raise awareness about their conservation. Additionally, I have been involved in several ecological restoration projects and focused both of my graduation projects on the study of aquatic ecosystems.

I am a recipient of the prestigious Skutch Grant, which supports my current project on bioacoustics to identify the functional connectivity of urban biological corridors in my community. This project is being developed with an interdisciplinary team.

I have an intermediate level of English, am proactive, and excel in teamwork and handling pressure effectively.
