Kieu An is a final year Bachelor’s student in Political Science at Okayama University, Japan. As a trained Climate Reality Leader and an intern of The Climate Reality Project Japan (CRP Japan), she is an enthusiastic advocator of climate justice for the Global South as well as indigenous environmental justice.
An is also highly interested in policy negotiation and the importance of amplifying the voices of civil society in combating climate change. She is one of eighteen youth candidates in Japan to draft policy recommendation on climate migration in the National Youth Statement of Japan in submission to YOUNGO, the youth constituency of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and also part of the team drafting CRP Japan’s position paper leading to COP28.
She believes that climate justice equals social justice, and she is eagerly dedicated to bridging the gap between environmental responsibility and the imperative for a fair, sustainable, and inclusive society.
