After years of dialogue, drafting and the inputs of a group of individuals involved in education, a Guide for using the Earth Charter in Education is finally ready for use and dissemination.

Earth Charter International Report on Youth Engagement
In May 2006, Plan Netherlands made a very generous, 2-year grant to Earth Charter International for youth programming. This allowed the Earth Charter Initiative, for the first time ever, to hire a full time International Youth Coordinator. Dominic Stucker was selected for this position and he started to work in November 2006. Over two years he was successfully leading the expansion of youth engagement in the Earth Charter Initiative.

Database of the endorsed universities and youth networks
All the youth organizations and universities that have endorsed Earth Charter have been pulled to own databases from the Earth Charter database. These two documents are serving the Earth Charter Youth Groups and other activists when soliciting partnerships in their respective regions.

Earth Charter Initiative’s youth activists helped stimulate the formation of the new Youth Task Force at an important Earth Charter Network Meeting in Amsterdam, Netherlands in December 2008. Nearly 30 youth, including many Youth Leadership Members, from all over Europe and Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Indonesia, the United States, and Zimbabwe participated in all Task Force working groups and contributed, in particular, to the one on youth. In addition to their strategic input, a Project Team of youth participants captured the spirit of the meeting in an original video, shown during the Closing Ceremony.
