My name is Hanna Kumera. Am 23 years old. I was born and raised in Ethiopia. I have one brother and 3 sisters. Some of my hobbies are: reading books, drawing pictures, fashion, gardening, hiking, travelling, interacting with foreigners etc. the list goes on. Am a recent graduate in civil engineering, am also studying management. Am very passionate about serving my community so I have been doing different kinds of volunteer work. I was a leader in different school clubs such as Gender Clubs, Art clubs, Media clubs, charity clubs and Educational clubs some of which I co-founded. I was introduced to the Earth Charter a few months ago. Reading the pillars and principles of the Earth Charter was one of the happiest moments of my life. Knowing people out there feel the same way as you do is such a great feeling. Currently, am working as an Earth Charter Young Leader in an initiative we started named “Shine Abyssinia” which functions under the pillars of the international Earth Charter. I also work as a program facilitator in an initiative named Yess-Ethiopia that works on youth empowerment. Our Earth is such a beautiful planet to live in: dazzling nature, beautiful people and culture. Am always fascinated by the complexity and beauty of nature and our environment. I believe we can overcome all the challenges our world is facing if we apply the principles of the Earth Charter in our lives as a continent, as a nation and as an individual. Come join us today, TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!
