UNEP hosted a symposium in Nairobi where the Earth Charter was highlighted
Nobel Peace Laureate and Earth Charter Commissioner, Wangari Maathai, participated in the “Symposium on Climate Change and Sustainable Cities” where she highlighted the relevance of the Earth Charter as an instrument for education for sustainability.

This September Earth Charter features high on Dutch agenda
September is always an important month in the Netherlands, since on the third Tuesday of the month the Dutch Queen sets out the main features of government policy for the coming parliamentary session in the “Speech from the Throne”. This September however, there were many more occasions to look towards the future, to stand still, and to reflect. The Earth Charter played a prominent role in all these events.
