GRI and Earth Charter Event in Amsterdam, May 2008

Earth Charter endorsers or users who are in the Amsterdam region in early May should consider putting the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) ‘Amsterdam Global Conference on Sustainability and Transparency’ on their agenda. Apart from the general relevance of the conference, the Earth Charter will be the focus of a special high level event to be held on Thursday 8 May at 12.45pm.

Earth Charter International is pleased to announce the publication of its 2007 Annual Report. It is worth mentioning that this publication is just a synopsis of Earth Charter-based actions and provides a general overview of the activities of the Initiative throughout the world.

Taiwan, Province of China: TESA Series in Thought and Praxis of Environmental Ethics

The Taiwan Ecological Stewardship Association (TESA), Earth Charter Affiliate in Taiwan, Province of China , has developed the abovementioned material. This series consist of four volumes. The title of one of the volumes is: “From Land Ethics to Earth Charter.” The volumes are in Taiwanese and have 1,192 pages. The editor of this series is Nancy Tzu-Mei Chen, general secretary and founder of TESA. The content is mainly intended as reference reading for the general education on environmental ethics related courses in university, and can be very informative also for the school teachers, churches or NGOs.
